Early voting in the presidential elections was conducted without issues, said State Electoral Commission spokeswoman Ljupka Gugucevska.

She informed that 686 citizens voted in the Macedonian diplomatic missions in Australia, Asia and Europe – a turnout of 38.51 percent of all who registered. Voting continues in six stations in the US and Canada.

Voting was held in Macedonia as well, for citizens who requested to vote at home due to illness, in the prisons and in the internally displaced persons center, where seven citizens voted.
Out of 3.539 citizens who asked to be allowed to vote at home, 3.064 have voted by 18:30.
In the 13 prisons and detention facilities, a total of 1.640 citizens were eligible to vote. Turnout was 55 percent, Gugucevska said.

On Sunday, when 3.480 polling stations will open across the country, allowing 1.8 million citizens to vote for one of the three candidates – Gordana Siljanovska for VMRO-DPMNE, Stevo Pendarovski for SDSM/DUI and Blerim Reka for AA/BESA. Voting begins at 7 in the morning and ends at 19h, with the results expected a few hours after the stations close.
