Defense Minister Radmila Sekerinska insisted that the European Union must “reward” Macedonia and allow it to open EU accession talks after Stevo Pendarovski was elected President.

The country showed for a third time in a row that it can conduct democratic elections and that the majority wants to go forward and be integrated in NATO and EU. I believe that it will be a great disappointment, not just for “North Macedonia”, but for all of the Balkans, Sekerinska said about the possibility that accession talks are again denied to the country.

France, the Netherlands and Denmark remain opposed to their opening, Sekerinska told a Greek news agency.
