VMRO-DPMNE informs that their presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova enjoys a lead of 5 percent over Stevo Pendarovski, which translates to between 45 and 50 thousand votes.

Deutsche Welle reported the opposition findings, which also see Siljanovska lead ahead of Pendarovski with 15 percent ahead of ethnic Macedonians only. The polls also put the turnout at between 50 and 55 percent, well above the required limit of 40 percent needed to make the elections valid.

This corresponds with the findings of the opposition Alliance of Albanians, whose official Arben Taravari said that Siljanovska has the lead in the presidential race.

The polls conducted by VMRO-DPMNE show that the opposition party leads SDSM by 1.3 percent overall, and by 7 percent among ethnic Macedonians. After much dithering, this week Prime Minister Zoran Zaev committed to hold early general elections if Pendarovski loses to Siljanovska in the presidential race.
