In an interview with Nova Makedonija, VMRO-DPMNE presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova says that the public must be alert over the many abuses of the electoral process by the Zoran Zaev Government.

In this atmosphere, when the entire Government, led by the Prime Minister, is actively engaged in the per-electoral campaign, in violation of all international standards, we must remain alert. I am a UN election expert, and I can tell you that only elections conducted freely and fairly, in accordance with the law and international codes, can be considered democratic. These is no mention of a chivalric contest here. I expect that international and domestic observers will be objective, not for the sake of some political interest, but for the sake of Macedonia and its European future, Siljanovska said.

Her comments come as the SDSM party was revealed to have prepared a major database of personal information of citizens, including movement of people. This, Siljanovska’s camp said, is a major issue for the fairness of the elections.
