The Independent Trade Union for Education, Science and Culture (SONK) starts Monday the strike in all institutions at the national level in the activities of child protection – kindergartens and in primary and secondary schools, by not performing their duties at work, which according to announcements will last until no adequately acceptable solution is found for both parties. The Ministries of Education and Science and of Labor and Social Policy, on the other hand, point out that even in conditions of strike, schools and kindergartens must perform their activity – taking care of children and organizing the educational process.

As announced yesterday by the President of SONK, Jakim Nedelkov at a press conference, the strike will take place with non-performance of duties at work, ie the strikers will be placed in rooms that will be jointly agreed with the directors of institutions and will not perform their educational activities.

I urge the government to call us for talks as soon as possible, to understand that such an attitude towards the employees who are vital for the state is not going anywhere, to call us to find a mutually acceptable solution, he said.
