A plan by the Zaev Government to sign a medevac contract raised questions after it was revealed that the company which will provide the helicopter services was registered only weeks before the ad was made public.

A recently founded company named SARHEMS won a contract to make two medical helicopters available for emergency transport which would be funded in a public – private partnership with the Government. The company was founded on August 5th, and the ad for competing bids was published by the Government on August 29th, indicating that the company, owned by Scandinavia based businessman Sasa Dzakovic, had previous knowledge about the project.

This is a private company which will charge through the insurance companies, and after eight years the helicopters will be left as property of the state, Zaev said today, assuring the public that the contract is legit.
