Gostivar Mayor Arben Taravari, who is one of the leaders of the Alliance of Albanians, reveals that according to their polls opposition presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska lead over the SDSM – DUI ruling coalition candidate Stevo Pendarovski. For Taravari, the Alliance should try to get its joint candidate with the BESA party Blerim Reka to defeat one of the two main, ethnic Macedonian candidates, and with that to get Reka into the second round.

We believe that the candidate who we support, Blerim Reka, and who is currently receiving support from other ethnic groups as well, has a chance to make it to the second round. There, according to our estimates, he will face Siljanovska, who currently has a slight lead over Pendarovski. But, we will see how the campaign develops, Taravari said in an interview with Alsat TV.

With this Taravari denied that the Alliance and BESA already have a working agreement with VMRO-DPMNE to support Siljanovska in the second round. According to Taravari, Reka is in the race to win it. Taravari responded with counter allegations against DUI, saying that this party is secretly cooperating with VMRO.
