Arben Taravari, the old/new mayor of Gostivar and secretary general of the Alliance for Albanians, claims that the opposition parties in Parliament are negotiating with MPs from the ruling SDSM and DUI to vote no confidence in the current government. The talks with these MPs, as he says, were on their initiative.

On the evening of October 31, Mr. Zaev announced that he would resign as party leader and as Prime Minister. I hope that the resignation will be processed and there will be no need for a vote of confidence in the Government. I hope that in the new majority there will be MPs from SDSM and DUI. I guarantee you this, I just do not know whether no-confidence motion will be filed or Zaev will resign today. According to some information I have, today Zaev will resign himself, so this facilitates the procedures for starting negotiations to form a new government, Taravari said.
