State education inspectors (DPI) raided the Tetovo University today, seizing documents in an investigation prompted by allegations of unlawful appointments of Government officials to positions in the institution.

The allegations were raised by an inspector who went public with the claims. The state inspectorate distances itself from the public claims, but performed the investigation anyway.

We seized numerous documents and they will be examined to determine the factual situation. The public will be informed of our finds, DPI said in a press release.

The Zaev Government is entangled in numerous nepotism scandals, such as hiring of close relatives of Government officials in well paid public sector positions. The allegations raised in the Tetovo University fit the pattern.
