The Helsinki Committee demands that citizenship be issued according to European standards

The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights has prepared a legal opinion on non-citizenship, with reference to the Law on Citizenship, the Law on Foreign Nationals and the Law on Unregistered Persons in the Birth Register.

According to the Committee the state should find solutions for them, in accordance with international standards as well as the legislation and practice of the European Union.
