The MP from Alternative, Skender Rexhepi, said in an interview with TV 24 that Alternative did not join the Government because of power, but because of fulfilling the strategic goals of European integration and reviewing, as he says, the politically motivated court cases.

According to his statement, if there is no concrete realization of those goals, then there is no point for Alternative to remain in the Government.

In case we have a statement from the EU that there will be no start of negotiations at all without an agreement with Bulgaria, believe me, that decision should be reconsidered in the party’s bodies. As soon as possible, we should ask the EU to form a commission on behalf of the EU or certain countries in which democracy is at the helm, to come and review all possible politically motivated cases. If that does not happen, believe me, there is absolutely no need for me, personally, and I believe the bodies of Alternative, to be part of the government, Rexhepi told TV 24.

Gashi, however, points out that Rexhepi’s views don’t represent the party’s.

Alternative told TV 24 that they remain on their principles according to which they agreed with SDSM and say that they are optimistic about the start of negotiations with the EU by the end of January.
