Lawyer Aleksandar Tortevski sees the racketeering scandal as a threat to the survival of Zoran Zaev’s Government, given the extensive and well documented ties between the main culprits such as Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 and the ruling SDSM party.

Boki 13 had frozen bank accounts, and yet the Government gave him a TV station, had him engage in racketeering, and nobody asked how is it possible that he runs the TV with a frozen bank account, with his father appointed as the formal owner. Everybody was taking pictures with him. That’s the issue that can bring down the Government, everybody who was having his picture taken with Boki 13 bears political responsibility. And if they took some money on top of it, it shows you the mentality of our politicians, always looking to make a quick fortune, Tortevski said.

Boki 13 was close with dozens of SDSM party officials, starting with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and his top deputy Radmila Sekerinska, and is charged with abusing his political ties and relations with the Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva to extort money.

Tortevski has reported that, while he was adviser to Katica Janeva, he was offered a bribe of 500.000 EUR to help divert one of her cases. He calls on the Special Prosecutor’s Office to make public the note he prepared to report the offered bribe.
