Macedonian police stopped a man transporting 16 illegal migrants in his car toward the border with Serbia on Friday morning.

The police intercepted two vehicles, which refused to stop and attempted to flee toward the border. In one of them were the 16 men, from Pakistan, Eritrea and Nepal. All of the migrants were without any documents and were handed over to the Kumanovo police.

In a separate incident, also on the highway between Kumanovo and the Serbian border, a van from Skopje was stopped as it was transporting migrants. The driver and the migrants attempted to flee. Two of the migrants, both from Pakistan, were apprehended after one of them sustained a leg injury.
