Prosecutor Vilma Ruskoska, who enforced the resignation of Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva with her investigation into her alleged racketeering, said that two prosecutors from Janeva’s SPO office offered to testify.

The two called in to Ruskoska’s office, and asked if they should come and speak about the allegations involving Janeva, that she was extorting millions of euros from businessmen she was threatening with criminal charges, using showman Boki 13 as an intermediary. SPO prosecutors amazed the public when they held a press conference on Tuesday, the day after Boki 13’s arrest and Janeva’s resignation, to distance themselves from the woman they all considered a hero until a few days ago. One prosecutor even insisted that they had no power to initiate procedures by themselves, laying all the blame on Janeva, while others demanded that their work is seen as above reproach, and that all wrongdoing was concentrated in that one case which Janeva led against businessman Jordan Orce Kamcev, who was allegedly blackmailed.

Ruskoska said that the group extorted 1.5 million EUR from the businessman, taking initially 500.000 EUR. Boki 13 demanded a total of eight million, and in return he would allegedly get Janeva to drop her money laundering charges against Kamcev.

The money were paid to ease off on a procedure, Ruskoska said.

The Kod investigative program that runs on Telma TV reported that Boki 13 visited Katica Janeva in her office at least twice. The two would also frequent restaurants in Skopje and would post pictures, and Boki 13 employed Janeva’s son Lazar Janev, and allegedly brought him along for his racketeering missions, to provide further evidence that he can deliver on what he was promising.
