The Macedonian Government held Tuesday a reception for the new European handball champion, Skopje’s Vardar. The management and the handball players were welcomed by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.

Thank you for the happiness and joy you have given us. You are champions of our hearts. We are happy that the club exists and we want it to survive. Therefore, I will propose at a government session to allocate 500,000 euros in reward for the achieved success, and an additional 100,000 euros will be allocated to the Agency for Youth and Sports.

And right away, as of today, we will commit to the measures that we will take for the stability of the club at the same level it is now, but also for the development and a successful future. We will dedicate ourselves to finding a way for further work through legal solutions and with the help of state institutions. You bring joy to the citizens, and the state will respond with an investment in the future of Macedonia’s handball and Macedonia’s sports, Zaev said.
