Law professor and VMRO-DPMNE official Ivanka Vasilevska dismissed Prime Minister Zoran Zaev’s statements about his Secretary General Dragi Raskovski today, during which Zaev defended Raskovski against the allegations of corruption and racism, and said he will not ask Raskovski to resign. Zaev’s statement comes a day after Raskovski held a press conference during which he said he was meeting with decision makers on a public contract to purchase expensive air traffic control equipment on the behalf of the Prime Minister.

Dragi Raskovski himself said that Zoran Zaev is personally responsible for the suspicious bid to spend more than 7 million EUR to purchase a system for the M-NAV organization. Mr. Raskovski, tell us, is Zoran Zaev the person who was supposed to collect the proceeds from the sale worth 7 million EUR? Tell us, and stop protecting the man who has benn lying shamelessly to the entire Macedonian public for years, Vasilevska said.

Vasilevska was threatened by charges by Raskovski for her criticism of the procurement deal that was signed with the Italian Leonardo company.

It is unclear how was it possible for someone to know that Leonardo will win the contract even before it was signed. State prosecutors need to investigate whether what was said in the recording corresponds with subsequent events. It’s simple, prosecutors need to take action, order detention for Raskovski and investigate Zoran Zaev. Unless they are unable to do so, because we are talking about people who the prosecutors actually work for, Vasilevska added.
