Newly appointed US Ambassador to Macedonia Kate Byrnes posted a video address on her recent arrival to the country. Byrnes is appointed after serving as number two in the US Embassy in Athens, which was also heavily involved in promoting the imposed name change of Macedonia.
North Macedonia is now on its chosen path to NATO and the European Union. The team in US Embassy Skopje will work to help North Macedonia on this path and to generate new opportunities for prosperity, Byrnes says in her video which also contains references to the cultural landmarks of “North Macedonia”.
Byrnes also worked as diplomat in Spain, the OSCE mission in Vienna, the NATO mission in Brussels and Afghanistan among other places.
