VMRO-DPMNE warned that the economic stimulus measures proposed by the SDSM led Government are so small and bureaucratic that many companies are opting to shoulder the burden of the economic crisis alone, rather than jump through the hoops to get some assistance.

Countries in the region have set aside stimulus packages that are up to 40 times larger than the one prepared by Macedonia. And while businesses and citizens are hurting, the SDSM led Government decided to hike the gas tax. Instead of giving some leewey to the citizens, it is taking away from them, the opposition party said in its press release.

The stimulus package prepared by the Government, after its initial plan to cut public spending was broadly rejected by the public, is the second smallest in Europe – after Belarus.
