Zaev’s First Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi, from the DUI party, told TV21 that their demand to have an ethnic Albanian Prime Minister for 100 days at the end of the term of the Government will also apply in coalitions with other parties, such as VMRO-DPMNE.

The demand was accepted by Zoran Zaev, whose negotiations with the Alternative party are about to put in place the first majority ethnic Albanian Government in Macedonian history.

The agreement between DUI and SDSM was accepted by Zaev, who agreed that an ethnic Albanian will be Prime Minister for the last 100 days of the Government. I believe this will also apply under SDSM’s new leader Dimitar Kovacevski. But, let me tell you, DUI also discussed this with VMRO-DPMNE, between Ahmeti and Mickoski, and they agreed to it, Grubi said.

VMRO-DPMNE responded that it would not engage in “nationalist talking points”, but that it would be better if DUI came out and told the public that it agreed to holding early elections in 2022. VMRO-DPMNE demands elections after it became clear at the local elections that public support for SDSM has collapsed.
