VMRO-DPMNE representatives piled criticism on the Zaev Government as Parliament finally got around to discuss the removal of Deputy Healthcare Minister Asim Musa. Musa was filmed in October as he as taking a bribe from an Albanian citizen who wanted to receive treatment in a Macedonian public hospital, but a month after the scandal he still remained employed and would even appear with equally troubled Healthcare Minister Venko Filipce during public events.

VMRO-DPMNE member of Parliament Antonio Milososki said that the scandal painted the true picture of public healthcare in Macedonia, which is currently shaken by the much larger Racket 2 scandal.

These are the top officials in our healthcare, there is little difference between them. The Minister, the Deputy Minister, the director of the Healthcare Fund and others are being caught in the act, as they are taking bribes or rigging procurement contracts, Milososki said.

Ilija Dimovski from VMRO-DPMNE pointed to the latest scandal, where a company keeps winning no bid contracts worth tens of millions. “Maybe you can nominate the guy who runs this company to replace Musa”, Dimovski said. Aleksandar Jovanovski – Zuti most recently won a contract to deliver blood testing agents worth 35 million EUR.
