The families of the victims who lost their lives in the bus tragedy in Bulgaria, in a letter to the media today, publicly ask whom does the Parliament Speaker, Talat Xhaferi, want to protect and why he does not allow a parliamentary investigation into the case.

Now that we no longer have our loved ones, we seek only truth and justice. For that purpose, we asked the Inquiry Commission in the Parliament to hold a meeting on human rights and freedoms. But today we received an answer that this meeting, although convened by the chair of the Commission, Halil Snopce, the Parliament Speaker, Talat Xhaferi, canceled it, the letter reads.

The families of the victims of the tragic accident emphasize that the MPs are people’s representatives in the Parliament and they should be a voice and support for the citizens.

We seek only truth and justice, and we value such decisions as an attempt to hide it. Today, Mr. Xhaferi has aggravated our pain even more and we are publicly asking him why he is bothered by the truth, whom he wants to protect and why he does not allow a parliamentary investigation, reads the letter to the media.
