The two main mistakes Zoran Zaev made in his policy toward Bulgaria was that he agreed to the joint committee of historians to rewrite our history, and that he included business deals in the mix, VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski said during his Alsat-M TV interview.

The first mistake was signing the 2017 treaty, that practically now is a condition for our advancement toward the European Union, with its committee that negotiates on historic events. Based on these interpretations, we will have our door toward the EU opened or closed. An even bigger mistake is that two politicians sat down and are negotiating business deals and this is now also a condition for our progress. Who allowed politicians to negotiate about mines, banks, telecom companies, about private companies? Set aside the political elements, how can politicians give away businesses?, Mickoski said.

VMRO-DPMNE alleges that Zaev agreed to facilitate the take over of five major businesses in Macedonia by Bulgarian interests. This was reportedly agreed between Zaev and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
