Documents that “Ekonomski Lider” has obtained reveal new strange details about the work of the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office and prosecutor Katica Janeva.

None of the former special prosecutors have reported their bonuses they received as confidentiality fees, Anti-Corruption Comission chairman Biljana Ivanovska said recently.

With this, she announced that anti-corruption officials would also deal with the enormous bonuses that Special Prosecutor’s Office chief Katica Janeva awarded to her colleagues.

In accordance with the Law on Free Access to Information, “Ekonomski Lider” came to the reports of former special prosecutors, which they filled out and handed over at the time of their appointment and after the termination f their term. In the next few days, “Ekonomski Lider” will publish the reports of all prosecutors, without any comments, and leave readers to judge for themselves whether there is a difference in their assets.

Outside of the property and assets at her disposal, special attention is drawn to Katica Janeva’s report, especially the sixth graph referring to securities and stakes.

In it Katica Janeva did not state that she owns any stocks, stakes or other securities, but that she has a “Life Insurance Policy” worth MKD 2,790,074 as of 2018.

Two moments are indicative. First, that the life insurance contract is not concluded at the time of assuming the office, but in 2018, meaning before the Racket case broke out, so the underlying cause of life insurance is not related to the danger of the job. And secondly, the basis of acquisition includes the abbreviation SDN, which means “acquisition in another way”.

Hence, other ambiguities arise. For example, what is Janeva’s way of earning this amount, is it part of the bonuses she gave herself, which in turn means that she paid her life insurance with taxpayers’ money?
