Prime Minister Zoran Zaev had a meeting with leaders of parties in the government coalition, where he introduced them to the agreement reached with Alternative, which ensured a stable majority in Parliament and a stable government with the entry of this party in the executive branch, the Government informed.

Zaev briefed the coalition leaders on the details of the agreement with Alternative, as well as the content of the document Basic principles for upgrading the work program of the Government, which should be completed in order to become an integral part of the new government program.

The Prime Minister said that the agreement with Alternative for strengthening the parliamentary majority and the Government means that the new expanded coalition assumes the responsibility for a secure future of both the state and the citizens.

Zaev added that in these moments when the functioning of the institutions with full capacity is the most important, the agreement reached is a guarantee that we have a majority that will work on solutions to serious current challenges such as ensuring continuity and a successful epilogue to the EU membership process, that is, finding a solution to Bulgaria dispute, dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and of course the global energy crisis.

The Prime Minister Zaev also informed about the part of the agreement by which Alternative assumes responsibility for the activities in several ministries, institutions or regional units or boards in accordance with previously established principles for reaching an agreement to expand the majority.

The entire process of maintaining stability of the central government in Macedonia will continue to be ensured in the spirit of democracy and for the strategic goals of the country, but also because the citizens do not need early parliamentary elections, but a stable period for achieving the priorities of the government program, Prime Minister Zaev emphasized at the meeting, the Government added.
