A Parliament Committee is set to begin the discussion on whether to strip former Prime Minister and VMRO leader Nikola Gruevski of his parliamentary mandate.

Gruevski received political asylum in Hungary after the years of persecution at the hands of the Zaev regime. Now the ruling majority in Parliament wants to use a clause allowing them to revoke the mandate of a representative if he has been absent for more than six months. Zaev needs 81 votes to push the decision through Parliament.
