Prime Minister Zoran Zaev voiced satisfaction with expressed support for realization of Euro-Atlantic integration processes during meetings with several European and world leaders while his stay in New York for the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

We use the opportunity to meet with all the leaders, we had a meeting with some European leaders, some world leaders, in order to advance the position of the Republic of North Macedonia, but also to accelerate and guarantee the decision we are waiting from the European Council, Prime Minister Zaev said in an interview with the public broadcaster.

He added that he used this visit to meet with all leaders influential in making decisions on the country’s NATO and EU integration processes.

In the interview, he positively assessed the first meeting with his Greek counterpart, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with whom they discussed the future directions of building friendly relations and implementation of the obligations of both countries, which are necessary for the implementation of the Agreement, and important, as he said, to strengthen friendship.

Prime Minister Zaev emphasized that “it is especially important that our country has the majority of EU citizens support and that there is no EU member state that has a problem with the Republic of North Macedonia”.

Asked whether he has a Plan B for the country, other than membership in NATO and starting negotiations with the European Union, Prime Minister Zaev said there was no need for a Plan B.

He added that we are living with European values, which, as he added, will be improved and through the chapters we will transform the system to become a European system, and we all European citizens.
