Zoran Zaev expressed hope that Macedonia be given an EU accession date in October, and announced he will be going to Brussels and Luxembough himself as European leaders are discussing the proposal. Zaev used his favorite expression “to the sky” to express how high his hope is.

I believe to the sky that we will get an accession date. I remain optimist. Our country never got anything easy, everything had to be accomplished with hard owr. All the governments, not just ours. The drama in the EU will probably go to the final moment, Zaev said, as France remains opposed to the opening of accession talks in October.

Zaev said that he will travel to Austria tomorrow, and then head out to Brussels and Luxembourg, where he decision is being made. His deputy Bujar Osmani and Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov are already there.
