The Macedonian Government held Thursday an event marking Europe Day and Victory Day, which was also attended by WWII veterans.

The citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia today are proud of the choice they made. We’ve chosen the future, which lies in the European Union. We’ve chosen Europe and the EU because they were founded on values we believe in, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said, sending a message to our friends from the European Union: “We are coming home!”.

In his address at the event, the president of the board of the Union of War Veterans, Nikola Stojanovski stressed the great role of the fighters in the WWII for the creation of the state, remembering the work and functioning of the Union of Associations of the National Liberation War, as well as their activities that are grounded in the statehood of our country.

The Union of War Veterans cordially welcomes all the commitments for peace, democracy and prosperity of our country, the Republic of North Macedonia, on the road to NATO and the European Union, said Stojanovski.
