Alfa TV, an outspokenly critical news outlet in Macedonia, which frequently reports on crime and corruption scandals involving the Zaev regime, was raided by the police today.

The TV station informed that officers came unannounced today, demanding various types of documents. In a statement, Alfa manager Jane Bojadzi said said that the police said they are looking into its marketing and advertising.

This is unscrupulous pressure from the Zoran Zaev – Oliver Spasovski Government aimed at us, in an attempt to intimidate the owner, management, our employees and to undermine our business. The goal is to destroy Alfa TV, which Zoran Zaev has frequently declared as an enemy of the state. Alfa TV is the voice of freedom in Macedonia, of the Macedonian people and our diaspora, and we will not allow to be silenced, Bojadzi said.

The Interior Ministry said that they are “acting on orders from state prosecutors” and that this tactic should not be seen as a “raid”.
