According to President Stevo Pendarovski, the ‘4+1’ proposals in the negotiations with Bulgaria are not risky.

According to him, with the arrival of Petkov and the new dynamics in the dialogue between the two sides, no predominant focus is placed on historical issues.

Hate speech, the position of minorities without interference in the internal affairs of the two countries, the joint commemoration of historical figures and periods important for both Macedonians and Bulgarians, are the few points that remain. The good thing is that with the arrival of Petkov and the changed methodology of talks, both sides do not give a predominant focus on historical issues, but rely on infrastructure and energy connections, cooperation in the economy, education, media, Pendarovski said in an interview with TV Sitel.

The President does not see anything disputable in the Goce Delcev Declaration, says it is unnecessary politicization.

I have seen the Declaration. It is not disputable. But, it seems to me that at first it looks like a program for honoring the character and work of Delcev, which is indisputable and should not be a political declaration around which we will agree. Practically, one enters into unnecessary politicization. We generally say that the language and identity are beyond reason for talks and Goce Delcev enters that part, and the celebration should be done as soon as possible and we should have as many manifestations on that occasion, said Pendarovski.
