Eight EU member states from the east of the continent called that Ukraine is immediately given an EU candidate status, and that accession talks begin immediately.

From the Macedonian point of view, it’s interesting that among them is Bulgaria, which is currently blocking Macedonia from opening its EU accession talks. The proposal is also supported by Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltic countries, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today asked the EU to immediately admit his country.
