Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is set to meet with US President Donald Trump in the White House today, in a meeting of two of the most influential right wing leaders in Europe and America.

Orban enthusiastically endorsed Trump in 2016 and predicted his unlikely win, much in the way that he helped right wing parties to victory across central Europe. Both leaders have promoted a return to right wing policies such as economic deregulation and strong protection of borders, and both face never ending attacks from establishment politicians and media.

Recognizing the longstanding ties between the United States and Hungary, the President and the Prime Minister will discuss ways to deepen cooperation on a range of issues, including trade, energy, and cyber security. As the leaders of NATO Allies, they will also explore opportunities to meet the many national security responsibilities of their two countries and will celebrate Hungary’s 20th anniversary as a NATO member, the White House said ahead of the meeting.
