Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was re-elected as leader of the conservative Fidesz party.
Speaking at the Fidesz congress, Orban said that Hungary has no intention of leaving the European Union, but will work to find a compromise between the eastern and western EU members for the future direction fo their union. Orban dismissed attempts of foreign meddling in his country saying that “only the Hngarians will decide for their country, their home and their lives”.

Under Orban, Hungary has faces increasing pressure from left wing EU politicians, who see him as a major opponent to the open borders policy, the V4 news agency reported. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that the problem is not being created by Hungary.

Pro-migration forces open borders to illegal immigrants, then put pressure on other countries to accept and distribute them, Szijjarto said, adding that Fidesz is Europe’s most successful party, which gives it enough confidence to face future battles.
