The Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani, today hosted a working lunch organized in honor of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, who is paying an official visit to Macedonia.

Prime Minister Zaev thanked President Duda for the encouraging messages he sends regarding Macedonia’s EU integration, as well as for the overall assistance that Poland has provided on several occasions to Macedonian healthcare, including the latest donation of 200,070 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

Europe is our guiding star, the motivator for our development over decades and centuries, and we believe that the EU will not allow our hope to fade, said Prime Minister Zaev at the meeting with President Duda.

In that context, it was jointly concluded that the enlargement of the European Union must continue, expressed through the start of negotiations with Macedonia, because it will confirm that the European project is alive and attractive, especially for countries like Macedonia that implement all necessary reforms.

After Brexit, the enlargement of the European Union is especially important to provide new enthusiasm, new opportunities, new development and a new economic market, Zaev and Duda agreed.

The meeting highlighted the closeness between the Polish and Macedonian people and all citizens of both countries, and Prime Minister Zaev and President Duda stressed that there are excellent conditions for further development of cooperation between Macedonia and Poland, especially in the field of economy and tourism.
