Shverceri, the nationalist Albanian football gang, draped their logo over the Skopje Kale fortress yesterday.
The group celebrated 30 years since its founding and prepared a fireworks display ahead of the Shkupi match against Vardar. This comes after a group of Albanian nationalists dragged a huge Albanian flag over Tsar Samoil’s fortress in Ohrid.
The Skopje fortress was the site of a major fight between the Shverceri and the Macedonian Komiti football group in 2011, over the attempted reconstruction of a church that once stood in the fortress.
