The Macedonian national handball team beat Turkey in an away qualifier, which sets the stage for the final showdown against Greece on Sunday.

It was a thrilling game, and Macedonia was done two goals at the half time (13:11).  In the second half, Nikola Mitreski was placed at the goal and this made all the difference later in the game. Turkey was able to get 4 goals ahead but a change of formation for Macedonia helped even the odds.In the final 10 minutes, Mitrevski had three crucial saves one after the other and both teams were gaining and losing the lead.

Stoilov and Taleski were composed in the finish and after some judicial confusion in the last seconds, Mitrevski made his final save for a solid 24:26 win.
