21 patients treated with the West Nile virus, six are in intensive care

A total of 21 persons are treated at the Infectious Diseases Clinic with West Nile fever, and three people are awaiting confirmation of whether they are infected with the virus. Six of the patients are in intensive care, informed Healthcare Minister Saso Klekovski at a press conference today.

We currently have 53 patients who have overcome the illness, are hospitalized, or are suspected of having West Nile fever. Of these, 50 are confirmed, three are suspected cases hospitalized at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases. Of these, 52 have the neuroinvasive form, and one was without the neuroinvasive form and has been cured and released from hospital, said Klekovski.

As he said, 25 of those who were at the Infectious Diseases Clinic have been cured and released home, and 21 are hospitalized at the Clinic.
