Firefighting planes used to help in a difficult situation near Tetovo

The Director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue (DZS) Stojance Angelov informed that two firefighting planes are headed to the Tetovo village of Miletino, where there is a large fire that endangers the settlement. Tetovo firefighters are on the ground, but extinguishing the fire in the forest is difficult due to the inaccessible and rugged terrain.

Angelov pointed out that the two planes are engaged to help create conditions for firefighters to enter the forest and act on the fire. He also informed that the smell of smoke that citizens feel in parts of Skopje is from the fire in the Ramno area of Skopska Crna Gora, which they have been trying to bring under control for two days. As he says, the strong wind is further complicating the situation.

Angelov emphasized that a police helicopter, Skopje firefighters, teams from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue with Pinzgauer vehicles, as well as about 30 members of the Army are participating in this operation.
