“We expect cargo transport from Prilep via Bitola and out of the country to begin soon, and intercity rail transport will also be enabled; and we expect to see significant progress on the Prilep–Bitola highway”, stated Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski during today’s October 11th commemoration in Prilep.
“Regarding cargo transit, we are already in the final stages of launching cargo transport operations. Marble products will be shipped via cargo transport, which will also help protect passenger traffic. I expect us to start cargo operations very soon,” Nikoloski noted.
He also announced that an intercity train service between Prilep and Bitola is expected to begin operating in the near future.
“Regarding the rail connection between Bitola and Prilep—something I had promised—you know that the Prilep–Bitola highway is being built in parallel. We reached a joint decision with the contractor, the ‘Bechtel-Enka’ consortium, to complete all activities related to bridging the railway line—which involves several locations—so that once rail traffic begins, it will not be interrupted.” “And I expect that in the coming period, we will also launch an intercity train service between Prilep and Bitola,” Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski stated in Prilep.
