Ohrid Airport “St. Apostle Paul” has received a new and modern look, making it one of the symbols of the Ohrid region, said the Deputy Prime Minister and Transportation Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski, on the occasion of Independence Day.
In just two years, we have managed to give Ohrid Airport “St. Apostle Paul” a new modern look, an embodiment of the Ohrid region. After 56 years, the airport is being reconstructed, opening its doors to even more tourists and airlines, and the numbers are above expectations, over 240 thousand passengers since the beginning of the year, said the Deputy Prime Minister.
I am truly delighted that today, after hard work, we are managing to open a practically new airport, that is, we are managing to open a terminal building together with auxiliary facilities that mean a much, much better experience for passengers compared to before. If the last major interventions here were made somewhere in 1970, then it is not difficult to calculate that for exactly 56 years the Ohrid Airport in the terminal building, in the take-off and landing areas was in the same or similar conditions. On the one hand, that is a long period of time, but on the other hand, it shows the dedication of this Government, which has been in operation for only two years, to changing things. And just as we are changing things everywhere in the country, we are certainly changing them here too, added Nikoloski.
