On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova attended a working lunch in Budapest, hosted by the President of Hungary, András Bakka, for the heads of delegations. According to the Office of the President, Siljanovska-Davkova congratulated President Bakka on his election this past August and expressed a readiness to deepen Macedonian-Hungarian relations through political dialogue, the exchange of visits, and the enhancement of economic cooperation.
Siljanovska-Davkova expressed her gratitude for Hungary’s principled and vocal support for Macedonia’s European integration, as well as for its active engagement within the Visegrad Group. She emphasized the necessity of a credible, merit-based enlargement process, anchored in the Copenhagen criteria.
The Office of the President further noted that the two leaders discussed current geopolitical challenges and the need to strengthen multilateralism—viewed as a mechanism for building robust institutions—which would enable smaller states to participate more effectively in decision-making processes regarding global issues.
