The President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic visited Macedonia today. In his joint press conference with Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova, Milatovic said that their goal is to become the 28th member state of the European Union.
The European perspective assumes a special place in the agenda of both countries. We want to show that the European perspective of the region is not just a dream, but reality, said President Milatovic.
President Siljanovska added that the countries of the region must support each other in this path, and not make it more difficult. She called on the EU to evaluate Macedonia based on the objective Copenhagen criteria, and stop making precedents that allow bilateral blockades that “will create fertile ground for new precedents”.
