Eight persons suspected of domestic violence were detained over the past 24 hours, and 14 new cases were registered, informed the police.
The crackdown comes after the tragic suicide of an abused woman from Skopje who killed herself with her daughter. This prompted an investigation into the work of the domestic violence police unit and personnel changes, as well as changes in the treatment of such cases.
