Former Karpos Mayor Stevco Jakimovski has been transferred to a hospital from prison, reports 24 info.
According to the outlet, the reason for his hospitalization is a worsening of a postoperative infection, which required medical intervention and hospital treatment. For now, there is no official information about his current health condition, nor details about the further course of treatment.
Jakimovski has been serving his prison sentence for corruption in Skopje Prison since mid-July. He held the mayoral position in Karpos for a long time, often switching political sides, before eventually being put on a US black list for corruption.
