Eight victim of the West Nile virus

A 70-year-old patient from the Skopje neighborhood of Dracevo is the eighth victim of West Nile fever this year. He was being treated at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and was in critical condition, while having several comorbidities.

So far, there have been 58 confirmed cases of West Nile virus, of which two new cases were confirmed yesterday by the Institute of Public Health. All of the deceased from West Nile fever are men aged 62 to 83. They also had other illnesses.

The most cases of West Nile fever have been reported in the Skopje municipalities of Kisela Voda, Aerodrom, Gazi Baba and Butel.
