At today’s session, the Government reviewed a report on the situation resulting from a technical failure in the “Nova Makedonija” building—which houses eight state institutions—as well as the remedial actions taken so far and those planned to fully normalize working conditions. A burst pipe flooded sections of the building that includes the Education Ministry.
The water is affecting some electrical installations—and there is need to conduct all necessary technical and safety checks before the facility resumes regular operations, so the Government recommended that the institutions housed in the building reorganize their current operations. Specifically, employees are advised to temporarily perform their duties remotely, without physically being present in the building.
This measure is being taken solely for preventive and safety reasons; the priority remains the protection of employees’ health and safety, alongside the uninterrupted continuation of work processes and institutional operations. Competent services are working intensively to remediate the damage and create the conditions for a safe and full return of employees to the building.
