Hungary is increasingly solidifying its position on the European map of modern technologies through the expansion of the “ABZ Innovation” civil drone factory. Seven million euros have been invested in the new production facility, and the expansion is expected to boost output to approximately 2,000 drones annually based on a single-shift operation. If the factory operates on two shifts, capacity could reach up to 3,500 aircraft per year.
The company states that this is one of the largest production facilities for civil drones in Europe. The investment is backed by the US-based “Assembly Ventures,” Germany’s “Vsquared Ventures,” and Hungary’s “Day One Capital.” The drones manufactured in Hungary are used in agriculture for precision spraying, seeding, and fertilizer application, as well as for industrial cleaning and cargo transport. The company’s products are already exported to more than 40 countries, with the US and Europe serving as its largest markets.
The factory’s expansion also holds broader significance for the European industry, as it is expected to help reduce reliance on drones and components manufactured in China. ABZ Innovation expects the demand for this type of technology to grow further, particularly in agriculture and industry, where drones are increasingly taking over tasks that previously required significant labor, time, and financial resources.
