The Kumanovo court sentenced Trajko Bojkovski to life imprisonment for four murders and two attempted murders of women in the Staro Nagoričane region. Bojkovski was charged with the murders of Stanče Karovska, Janka Antevska, Marija Marinkovska, and Mira Stankovska, as well as the attempted murders of Rosanka Trajkovska and Slobotka Arsovska. The prosecution sought the harshest possible penalty—life imprisonment—maintaining that the evidence presented confirmed the defendant’s guilt.
In his closing arguments, the prosecutor noted that the victims were killed in a similar manner and cited DNA traces found on some of the victims and one of the survivors as key evidence. Prosecutor Ljubomir Lape stated that the psychiatric evaluation indicated a high risk of reoffending and significant obstacles to the defendant’s rehabilitation. According to the prosecution, these specific circumstances were among the reasons for seeking a life sentence. At the previous hearing, held on September 28, Bojkovski pleaded guilty to three murders, while denying the fourth.
