“SDSM points on the public debt make no sense”

The two points of the opposition representatives in the Macedonian Parliament on the issue of the public debt are nebulous and they clearly show ignorance of the topic, said today Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski. SDSM representatives claimed that the debt statistics are deflated because they don’t show the debt of the public roads company and that a recent bond issue was not registered in the statistics.

Road loans do not enter the public debt and they should know that, because there is a Law on Public Debt. Those loans are framework based, and depend on how progress is made on the ground and the activities that are completed. That is how invoices are delivered and that is how loans are drawn and paid, Mickoski said about the first point raised by SDSM.

As for the second point of the opposition MPs, Mickoski replied that the loan was made in order to issue a Eurobond next year and, as he said, “so that we can repay their debts that were stealing from the people and literally emptying the institutions and ministries”.

We have to repay the bond that SDSM took out during the corona crisis, and used to burn down modular hospitals, to procure stale vaccines while the citizens are at the bottom in terms of prevention, and to have us at the top in terms of the number of victims during the epidemic. That is the opposition we have in Macedonia today, a criminal opposition that continues to be a continuity of the criminal Government of SDSM and DUI, said Mickoski.
