Mavrovo: fire that threatened a sensitive goat habitat quickly put out

The rapid response of the Nature Protection Service of the Mavrovo National Park Public Institution prevented the fire that broke out yesterday near the Kirilevec pasture from spreading to one of the important habitats of the wild chamois goat.

The fire was localized in time and completely extinguished, preventing its further spread to sensitive natural areas.

The National Park informs that this was the second fire on their territory during the same day. They therefore point out that the case is another indicator of the increased risk of fires in this period and of the importance of constant presence on the ground and rapid action.
